Job Title: Clinical Midwifery Specialist

Making a real impact as a leader and mentor in a midwifery team, dedicated to providing trusted, connected care for Aboriginal women and families.

About the Role:
  • Apply advanced clinical skills and exercise extended autonomy of decision making.
  • Oversee case management of women receiving care in a caseload model of care focused on Aboriginal women, their partners, and families.
  • Liaise with clinical midwifery educators to ensure excellence in midwifery practice is maintained.
Key Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA.
  • Post-registration qualification and a minimum three years full-time equivalent post-graduate qualification experience in midwifery continuity of care/caseload/MGP practice.
  • Proven competence in advanced midwifery skills, including perineal suturing, cannulation, maternal and neonatal resuscitation, speculum examination, and comprehensive assessment of the newborn.

Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal cultures and established links with local Aboriginal communities are highly valued. Applicants of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent are encouraged to apply.
