Counsellor | Cairns

We are seeking a skilled School Counsellor to join our team at Frontline Recruitment. As a Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing child and adolescent support services in our school, working closely with other staff to support students and families.

• Provide direct counselling support to students, addressing their emotional, social, and academic needs.
• Coordinate support for students with other health professionals, ensuring a comprehensive approach to student wellbeing.
• Develop and implement promotion and prevention activities in the school, fostering a positive and supportive environment.

• Completed a diploma, degree, or postgraduate course in counselling.
• AHPRA registration.
• Experience in a school setting (desirable).
• HLTAID004 Certificate - Provide Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting (desirable).
• HLTAID001 Certificate - Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (desirable).
• Current First Aid Certificate and Positive Notice Working with Children (Blue Card).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, focused on student wellbeing and outcomes.
• Willingness to relocate or already reside in Cairns.
