A chance to participate in the preservation of endangered leatherback turtles in a remote coastal area.
About the Project- This project has been working for nearly three decades to promote sustainable sea turtle projects in the Caribbean region, focusing on community-based initiatives and collaboration with local inhabitants.
- The conservation efforts involve nightly and daily beach patrols as well as operation of a hatchery to ensure the long-term survival of these species.
- Data collection on nesting dynamics, egg relocation to a hatchery, and release of hatchlings.
- Contribution to research efforts, including plastic contamination solutions and community projects focused on environmental science, marine biology, zoology, ecology, and conservation.
- Hands-on experience in conservation efforts and development of skills relevant to environmental science and related fields.
- A minimum 3-month commitment or 7 days as a volunteer, ensuring flexibility and adaptability in a remote environment.
- A strong interest in environmental conservation and willingness to learn and grow throughout the experience.
