Sugar Australia is seeking a skilled Refinery Process Specialist to join our team based at our Mackay, Queensland facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating the refinery plant in a safe and efficient manner, upholding quality and following set procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental procedures relevant to the site.
  • Assisting with safety risk assessments and identifying hazards.
  • Safely operating machinery and equipment while following established procedures.
  • Contributing to process improvements and cost reductions.
  • Monitoring and controlling the SCADA system and testing equipment.
  • Completing quality checks and recording results accurately.
  • Reporting food quality issues.
  • Engaging in the Achievement Plan and monthly milestone process.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to others as needed.

Requirements include:

  • High School Certificate.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work shift work.
  • Problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage pressure and work-related stress.
  • Team player with fair and equitable behavior.
  • Previous experience in a sugar factory environment is desirable.

The ideal candidate will be conceptual, flexible, and adaptable, with great communication, initiative, and decision-making skills.
