Our mission is to empower businesses, project developers, and individuals to effectively measure, mitigate, and offset their carbon emissions. We aspire to be at the forefront of fostering a more liquid and transparent carbon market in Australia, particularly through the financing and scaling of carbon sequestration initiatives and nature-based solutions.
Core Duties
- Perform comprehensive financial, operational, and physical due diligence on both greenfield and brownfield carbon projects across Australia and New Zealand.
- Design innovative financial solutions tailored to meet the specific funding and risk management needs of our clients, encompassing derivative solutions, project finance, structured trade, and traditional lending.
- Collaborate with various internal teams and stakeholders, including Sales, Trading, Risk, Operations, Legal, and Governance, to ensure timely delivery of exceptional client outcomes.
- Engage with leadership teams and senior executives from a diverse range of industries, fostering relationships with start-ups, mid-sized companies, institutional investors, and major listed corporations.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the factors influencing environmental markets both domestically and globally, including regulatory changes, supply and demand dynamics, competitive behavior, and client preferences.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, events, and working groups, offering thought leadership and unique insights to the broader market.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; an advanced degree in finance or environmental science is preferred.
- Significant experience in commodity project development, derivatives markets, and structured finance; direct involvement with nature-based solutions projects is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling and the ability to utilize Excel for building, analyzing, and interpreting financial models to derive actionable commercial insights.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to establish and maintain client relationships; existing connections in environmental markets are highly valued.
