Converter Station Design Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Manager to join our team in Melbourne, Victoria. As a Design Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and further developing our design work for converter stations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design scope management to ensure alignment of the proposed design with the overall project objectives
- Coordination with discipline lead engineers and sub-consultants to ensure on-scope, on-time and on-budget delivery of engineering design
- Coordinating engineering input into design reports and progress reporting
- Management of engineering change control processes
- Coordination of engineering design work between disciplines and stakeholders
- Ensuring discipline leads manage quality and compliance of the design and engineering produced by their discipline
- Championing Safety in Design process to ensure full engagement by the engineering team
You will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the group in coordination with colleagues around the broader global platform.
As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership in maintaining and further developing our design work for converter stations, including responsibility for business development, team leadership and development, thought leadership and research, client engagement, technical oversight of deliverables and project financial performance.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will require:
- A strong coordination skillset
- High Voltage Substation / Transmission experience
- Australian (Victorian / Tasmanian) transmission market experience is highly desirable
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills in complex and changing environments
The ideal candidate will have a mid-senior level of experience and be able to demonstrate a high level of expertise in their field.
