Job Title

We are seeking a motivated and experienced legal professional to join our dynamic team.


The successful candidate will work closely with our In-House Counsel to provide legal advice and support across a range of areas, including legislation relevant to local government and general legal advice applicable to the operations of local government.


This is an excellent opportunity for a junior solicitor to develop their skills and expertise in a fast-paced and challenging environment.


About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing legal advice and guidance to Council officers and employees
  • Assisting the In-House Counsel with a range of legal services, including litigation and dispute resolution
  • Conducting research and analyzing complex legal issues
  • Preparing and drafting technical legal documents and reports
  • Representing Council in court proceedings as required

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Law
  • General practice legal experience
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Ability to draft clear, well-reasoned legal opinions
  • Working knowledge of Court procedures
  • Ability to appear in the Magistrates Court
