Medical Care Specialist

This position is available in a high acuity unit focusing on acute medicine, with a strong multidisciplinary approach to healthcare. The work environment is supportive and inclusive, offering access to professional and career development opportunities.
The Department oversees hospitals across the state, providing community health, mental health, and primary healthcare services through over 300 sites. This includes the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver safe quality nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families, and other health professionals.
- Practice according to NMBA codes and guidelines for registered nurses and midwives.
- Maintain and promote a safe work environment.
- In collaboration with the healthcare team, plan, implement, and evaluate patient/client care.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to a strong team approach through open communication and a positive supportive attitude.
Eligible candidates will have access to travel and relocation assistance up to $15,000 from overseas, and up to $10,000 from interstate. They will also be able to take advantage of professional development and accelerated pathways.
A range of leave entitlements are available, including study leave and Professional Development Support. Fitness Passport – access to 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
