Installation Technician

This is a key role that requires close collaboration with our team to deliver exceptional results in the installation, maintenance and display of artworks.

We are seeking highly skilled individuals with experience in art handling, technical trades and museum lighting. Your primary responsibilities will include installing, de-installing and lighting exhibitions, collection displays and other projects at our sites.

Working closely with supervisors, you will ensure that all tasks are completed to the highest standard, adhering to international best practice standards. Key aspects of your role will include:

  • Assisting with the collection and installation of artworks at various locations
  • Fabricating and installing display support materials for exhibitions and collections
  • Maintaining equipment and conducting regular inventory checks
  • Monitoring object condition and reporting any damage or deterioration to relevant departments

To succeed in this position, you must have a strong ability to work safely and efficiently, along with a high level of physical fitness. Previous experience in creative fabrication, technical trades and/or museum lighting is highly regarded.

Possession of high-risk work qualifications and licenses would be advantageous. Additionally, expertise in electrical safety standards, exhibition lighting techniques, mount making, silver solder and/or welding, or CCV or signage installation would also be beneficial.
