Aged Care Financial Services Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled Aged Care Financial Services Officer to join our team in Devonport, Tasmania. This role offers a competitive salary and entitlements package.
Estimated Salary: AU$ 60,000 - AU$ 80,000 per annum
This is a permanent full-time position that requires strong accounting and clerical skills, particularly in accounts receivable transactions and client billing.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for processing accounts and incoming payments, verifying discrepancies, and resolving client billing issues.
- They will also prepare and process resident billing, reconcile the accounts receivable ledger, and facilitate payment of invoices.
- Familiarity with aged care policies and procedures is essential, as well as proficiency in technology, including MS Outlook, Excel, Aim, and Inerva.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
- Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivable data
- Prepare and process all resident billing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted
- Verify discrepancies and resolve client billing issues, including client liaison
- Facilitate payment of invoices by sending bill reminders and contacting clients (debt collection)
- Estate management and arrangement of refunds
- Ensure all resident movements are accurately recorded to enable the correct calculation of resident fees and charges
- Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status
- Reconcile all expected funding to the monthly Medicare Payment Statements and follow-up variances
Requirements:
- Knowledge of accounts receivable and basic accounting functions
- Experience within aged care
- Proficient use of technology, including MS Outlook, Excel, Aim, and Inerva
- Ability to analyse and problem-solve issues autonomously
- Proficient in data entry and management
- 1-3 years' experience in accounts receivable or general accounting
- Accuracy and attention to detail
