Job Overview

A Data Centre Engineering Operations Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of critical systems within data centres. This includes hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine and corrective maintenance on switch gear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, and building monitoring systems.
  • Evaluate performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on all aspects of critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with teams to design, implement, commission, and build out new facilities to increase capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and reliability.
  • Manage facility assets and provision infrastructure and inventory asset management services.
  • Lead on-site management of contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring adherence to established practices, procedures, and local legislation.
  • Coordinate with business leaders to optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability, and efficiency.

This role requires expertise in mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, as well as experience in mission-critical environments. A degree or technical certification in engineering or a related field is essential, along with 2+ years of maintenance experience on mechanical or electrical equipment.
