About the Role

We are seeking a talented Mining Engineer to join our Mine Planning team at Daunia Mine, a leading Australian producer of premium-quality coal. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in coordinating short-term design inventory and haulage scheduling, creating and maintaining an effective interface between short-term and medium-term planning, and identifying and implementing cultural and process improvement initiatives within the team and operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinating short-term design inventory and haulage scheduling
  • Creating and maintaining an effective interface between short-term and medium-term planning
  • Identifying and implementing cultural and process improvement initiatives within the team and operation
  • Ensuring that risk in the plan or designs are proactively identified, mitigated and where required adequately controlled
  • Overseeing the implementation and ongoing governance of key standard operating procedures
  • Couching and mentoring our Mining Engineers
  • Driving our safety culture through in-field engagement
Requirements
  • A tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline
  • Solid years' experience in truck and shovel design and/or execution
  • Experience using Spry, Deswik and Vulcan software packages preferable
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills to influence and communicate to a wide range of stakeholders
  • A flexible attitude and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and problem solve
  • Proven previous experience in a similar role at a senior level or ready to develop into a leader
