Cable Jointer

At Essential Energy, we are seeking a skilled Cable Jointer to join our team in Wagga. As a pivotal player in the energy industry's future, you will be responsible for the general construction, installation, connection, maintenance, and repair of high voltage (HV) and low voltage (LV) distribution network assets and equipment.

About the Role

As a Cable Jointer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our distribution network. This includes applying knowledge of relevant system switching, access procedure principles, tools, plant, and equipment.

About You

• Application of knowledge required to undertake the Cable Jointer role in an energy distribution environment
• Experience working effectively during times of both planned and unplanned events
• Participating and applying audits and safety processes
• Knowledge of relevant system switching, access procedure principles, tools, plant, and equipment
• Complying and implementing enterprise WHS and environmental procedures and processes
• Application of Cable Jointer trade skills in an energy distribution environment
• Ability to work closely with others in a team environment
• Able to successfully liaise with stakeholders and customers
• Computer skills appropriate for the role

Required Qualifications

• Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems - Distribution Cable Jointing with electives in Install, Maintain, Fault Find, Switching, and repair or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications
• Drivers licence
• WorkCover NSW Construction Induction Certificate
• Attainment and ongoing successful maintenance of all regulatory, industry, and business requirements
