Job Description:

  • Serve as a strategic risk advisor, providing critical oversight to the Consumer Bank and distribution network. You will lead risk analytics initiatives and develop innovative strategies to mitigate inherent and residual risks.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze complex business operations to identify key risk areas and develop actionable recommendations for senior management.

  • Master risk profiles for designated business units and collaborate with stakeholders to embed effective risk management practices.

  • Conduct thorough assessments of issues, evaluating inherent and residual risks, and their underlying impacts under current regulations.

  • Support operational risk in projects, initiatives, and embedding cost-effective solutions into Business As Usual (BAU).

  • Serve as a trusted advisor, fostering a strong risk culture and providing valuable insights on key risks, controls, metrics, and trends.

  • Document findings for management and committee reporting.

Skill Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in Operational Risk and/or Compliance within Banking & Financial Services.

  • Proven expertise in risk advisory and partnering with business stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate operational risk issues to senior stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with prudential and regulatory environments (APRA, NCCP Responsible Lending, Privacy Act, AUSTRAC etc.).

  • Ability to manage workload and drive process in a matrix working environment.
