Indigenous Engagement Coordinator Role

We are seeking an experienced Indigenous Engagement Coordinator to join our project teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximising Indigenous employment, procurement, and community outcomes on our projects.

About the Role

The Indigenous Engagement Coordinator will provide advice and support to develop strong relationships with external stakeholders, subcontractors, and suppliers to drive Indigenous outcomes on projects, including procurement, cultural, and community commitments. They will also support Indigenous recruitment and develop strategies to increase employment, retention, and training.

The role involves mentoring Indigenous trainees, apprentices, and employees to maximise retention and career prospects. Additionally, they will work with Indigenous subcontractors to assist them in understanding the commercial requirements of projects.

Liaising with relevant stakeholders to provide employment and training opportunities for Indigenous people seeking Cadetships, Scholarships, Apprenticeships, Traineeships, and direct employment is also a key responsibility.

The Indigenous Engagement Coordinator will work with the local community and internal stakeholders to celebrate Indigenous culture and education. They will support projects to develop capacity to meet Indigenous employment and procurement targets and provide reports and status updates on Indigenous employment, procurement, and engagement targets.

This role requires managing Government training fund administration and collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve organisational goals.

Requirements
  1. Previous experience in a similar role within the Civil Construction industry
  2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  3. Previous experience with Indigenous communities and businesses
  4. Strong IT skills
  5. Good time management skills
  6. Ability to work unsupervised and within a team
