About the Role

We are seeking individuals who have the availability to attend shifts at short notice, have their own reliable vehicle, and have the flexibility to work across several locations. A positive attitude, great communication skills, and strong focus on safety will assist in your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend school crossings and ensure the safety of children and pedestrians
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and make decisions in high-pressure situations
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, parents, and school staff
  • Communicate effectively with the public and provide excellent customer service
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Contribute to a safe and inclusive work environment

Requirements

  • A current Working with Children Check and completion of a satisfactory pre-employment Police Check (mandatory)
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and without supervision
  • Ability to work within clearly defined procedures, policies, and regulations
  • Flexibility to travel to any location within the municipality and to attend training sessions as required
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the role
  • Good and clear verbal communication skills with previous experience working with children and the general public
  • Computer skills required for completion of online training
