The Project Officer plays a key role in supporting the Operations Support Manager and contributing to the delivery of projects and portfolios.
- Administrative support is provided for projects, initiatives, services or systems to deliver on IBN's strategy and outcomes.
- Meetings, forums and events are organized, including invitations, venue and travel booking, equipment, catering, room setup and meeting correspondence.
- Customer service is provided to members and stakeholders.
- Purchasing and procurement, including coordination of consumables and merchandise, is handled.
- Reports, minutes, presentations and other materials are prepared for internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Corporate records are maintained and updated, and mail services are coordinated.
- Travel and accommodation bookings, as well as fleet coordination, are supported.
Key requirements include:
- Ability to work with Aboriginal people and demonstrate an understanding of Aboriginal Australian culture.
- Effective verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
- Proven time management and organisational skills, with experience handling diverse workloads within time constraints to meet deadlines.
- Well-developed experience in undertaking administrative tasks, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases and presentations.
- Research and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to analyse information to solve problems.
- Ability to work positively and effectively in a team environment to achieve outcomes.
- Adaptability and openness to learning new skills and methodologies.
