Cloud Operations Expert

Macquarie's Foreign Exchange Technology team seeks a highly skilled CloudOps Engineer to support the Commodities and Global Markets business.

Our goal is to build innovative solutions that deliver exceptional client experiences, leveraging deep industry knowledge and technical expertise to design and deploy robust, scalable, and client-focused platforms.

As a key member of our cloud operations team, you will play a vital role in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with cloud best practices and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud solutions using cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices.
  • Ensure compliance with cloud best practices and manage cloud infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that support efficient cloud operations.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering.
  • Strong experience with Java applications and build tools such as Maven, Ant/Gradle.
  • Skilled in AWS services (CloudFormation, EC2, EFS, RDS Aurora, EKS, Networking tools like Load Balancers, DNS Route53, Security Groups) and migration tools (e.g., DMS).
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes components (e.g., Deployments, Jobs, ConfigMaps) and scaling deployments.
  • Experience with ArgoCD (GitOps), Helm charts (packaging), and Docker (containerization optimization).
  • Proficiency in Linux shell scripting for automation.
  • Security & Secrets Management, using tools such as Venafi, HashiCorp Vault, and secure Kubernetes practices.
  • Familiarity with OpenTelemetry and Grafana LGTM stack.
