The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting residents to maintain optimal functional abilities, maximizing independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality physiotherapy interventions, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatments and programs for individual residents.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to prioritize the physical and emotional wellbeing of residents.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and clinical supervision to the Lifestyle Coordinator and Therapy and Leisure Partners.
- Ensure appropriate equipment is available for use by allied health staff and contribute to the development of the yearly Physiotherapy budget.
- Complete comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and regular reviews to identify residents' physical, social, and emotional needs.
- Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) degree.
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Physiotherapist.
- Experience in residential and community-based assessment and rehabilitation, including equipment prescription.
- Must hold a Current National Police Clearance.
- Demonstrated excellence in the delivery of evidence-based physiotherapy interventions.
- An understanding and appreciation of contemporary Physiotherapy practice and issues in aged care.
- An ability to relate to older people with empathy, understanding, and affording dignity and respect.
- Knowledge of Aged Care standards.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- An ability to collaborate, negotiate, and contribute toward multi-disciplinary team approach to care planning and delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to complete busy workload and respond to changing priorities.
- Effective use of a healthcare IT system.
