Job Overview

This role combines credit assessment and sales activities to convert opportunities into transactions. It involves supporting the originator in loan origination, preparing high-quality credit submission papers with financial analysis, assessing income and affordability through financial modelling, conducting feasibility studies, and maintaining knowledge of funding programs and policies.

Responsibilities
  • Credit Analysis and Origination: Assist the originator in loan origination from initial inquiry to settlement.
  • Prepare quality credit submission papers with financial analysis.
  • Financial Modelling: Assess income and affordability through financial modelling.
  • Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies to determine project viability.
  • Liaise with stakeholders throughout the origination process as required.
  • Manage the portfolio to maximize client retention, including loan renewals.
  • Maintain knowledge of internal funding programs and policies.
  • Stay up-to-date with the commercial real estate funding market.
  • Deal with routine queries from clients, investment managers, and third parties.
BDM Function
  • Identify transaction opportunities and present them to the originator.
  • Generate viable leads through diverse channels and exposure to an existing client base.
  • Demonstrate ability to convert leads into sales with assistance.
  • Prepare, update, and sustain a business plan.
  • Meet targets set by the originator.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with professionals and other stakeholders.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Degree in Commerce or related field.
  • No less than 2-3 years' experience in real estate banking and finance roles or real estate.
  • Ability to review, analyse, and structure commercial development and investment loans.
  • Strong understanding of development finance and the construction process.
  • Understanding of credit risk framework.
  • Working knowledge of commercial loan settlements.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial acumen and strategic approach to client management.
  • Prospecting and networking skills.
  • Drive to acquire a diverse customer base and meet set targets.
  • Sales success: Showcase a track record of meeting and achieving sales targets and business objectives.
  • Hunter sales mentality required for success in this role.
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems.
  • Time management & organisational skills.
  • Personable and able to work in a team.
  • Strong communication, both written and verbal.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
