Trade Assistant

Metcash is a leading independent retail partner and wholesaler in Australia and New Zealand, with a history dating back to 1927.

As a generalist, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including working in the trade yard and trade counter, ensuring health and safety, providing excellent customer service, managing stock control, and picking orders for delivery trucks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure health and safety of all staff, customers, and contractors
• Provide friendly and accurate service to Trade customers
• Complete sales using our Point of Sale System
• Manage stock control within your area of the business
• Pick orders for delivery trucks
• Put away stock in line with merchandising standards

We are seeking an individual who possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and unsupervised.

Key Qualifications:

• Previous building or trade experience preferred but not required (we'll provide training)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to prioritise workload effectively
• Physically fit and able to work on feet all day
• An eye for detail and sense of urgency
• Forklift license advantageous but not essential
