Job Description

Role Overview: As a Special Needs Support Assistant, you will provide support to students with special educational needs (SEN) and help them achieve their full potential. You will work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and other support staff to implement effective strategies and provide individualized support to students.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide emotional and academic support to students with SEN
  • Assist teachers in lessons and ensure students remain engaged and focused
  • Implement behavior management strategies and promote positivity in the classroom
  • Prepare and organize teaching materials, visual aids, and resources
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions

Requirements:

  • Relevant teaching assistant qualification (Certificate or Diploma in Childcare and Education)
  • Experience working with individuals with severe learning difficulties or other SEN
  • Excellent communication skills and empathy
