Role Overview

Amentum is seeking a Fire Special Hazards Technician to join their team in Alice Springs. As a key member of a multi-skilled team, this role will involve safely and effectively maintaining facility infrastructure and critical systems at OASIS.

The ideal candidate will have 2 years of experience in a similar role and a strong understanding of fire systems and suppression equipment. They will be responsible for the efficient and timely completion of clean agent system maintenance tasks, identification of deficiencies and repairs as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspection, testing and maintenance of fire systems and associated infrastructure in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Repairs and installation of associated fire systems and infrastructure.
  • Work with operational and maintenance personnel to coordinate life safety system impairments as required for repairs, maintenance and new installations.
  • Maintain a complete and current working understanding of all relevant facilities infrastructure, equipment and systems.
  • Inspection of fire extinguishers
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested.

Requirements

  • NICET II or III – Special Hazards Systems
  • Strong understanding of Work Health Safety (WHS) Act, and EHS policies & procedures
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience working within Facility Maintenance or similar technical environment
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of technical terminology relating to Electrical infrastructure and electronic equipment
  • Strong understanding of facilities equipment and functionality
  • Strong understanding of facilities O&M requirements
  • Strong understanding of equipment maintenance requirements (preventive, predictive, & corrective)
