Job Title: Clinical Research Coordinator

The Westmead Institute for Medical Research and Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking a skilled Clinical Research Coordinator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in the coordination of clinical research projects within the Westmead Health Precinct.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate clinical research projects across various departments, ensuring seamless execution and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records, databases, and documentation related to research projects, adhering to Good Clinical Practice standards and institutional policies.
  • Assist in participant recruitment, data collection, and biological specimen handling, maintaining meticulous record-keeping throughout.
  • Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders to develop project documentation and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to laboratory standard operating procedures and scientific protocols, reporting any abnormalities or concerns to supervisors.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance technical/scientific expertise and knowledge.
  • Prepare and present reports, abstracts, publications, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders, communicating results effectively.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in biological or medical sciences, nursing, or allied health.
  • Experience working with clinical research records/databases, e.g., REDCap.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to follow research protocols, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information with discretion.
