The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Solicitor to join our premier Band 1 Capital Market Transactions team in Melbourne. The team undertakes both capital markets work and public and private mergers and acquisitions, and is currently advising on landmark transactions.

Working closely with our leading and highly awarded partners, you will have exposure to some of the best and highest profile initial public offerings, capital raisings, and mergers and acquisitions in Australia, as well as a significant volume of cross-border transactions.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Be involved in all aspects of corporate ECM and public and private M&A transactions, including drafting and negotiating key transaction documents and providing advice on all areas of the transaction to clients.
  • Work closely with our clients, their other advisers, and regulators.
  • Ensure key deadlines are met, including working closely with other legal teams across the firm to deliver an integrated service to our clients.
  • Assist in building external client relationships, including business development activities for key existing clients and new clients.

Requirements

  • Be an admitted Lawyer in Australia or New Zealand.
  • Possess at least 3 years' experience in a leading corporate M&A practice or equivalent, with exposure to ECM transactions.
  • An excellent academic record, and a high level of attention to detail.
  • A proactive approach and desire to be an integral member of, and contributor to, our leading and supportive team.
  • An ability to work to tight timeframes, collaboratively and at times autonomously.
  • A curiosity about our clients, and an eagerness to create an exceptional experience for them.
  • A genuine passion for corporate law, with a natural desire for continuous learning.
