Sheet Metal Fabricator

We are seeking an experienced fabricator to join our team. As a sheet metal fabricator, you will be responsible for creating, repairing, replacing or modifying fabricated product components according to specific job instructions forms.

You will process and control the surface finish of fabricated parts or components by using linishing and other techniques to produce a high quality of work. You will also undertake fabrication and press shop duties as directed to achieve high levels of quality to meet customer expectations.

Maintenance of fabrication and press shop equipment is also an important part of this role. You will maintain the cleanliness and order of designated workshop in accordance with accepted standards and safety procedures.

In addition, you will operate to ISO 9001 quality certification.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create, repair, replace or modify fabricated product components according to specific job instructions forms
  • Process and control the surface finish of fabricated parts or components
  • Undertake fabrication and press shop duties as directed
  • Maintenance of fabrication and press shop equipment
  • Maintain the cleanliness and order of designated workshop
Requirements:

This role requires 3-5 years' experience as a Fabricator / Press shop within a small Medium Enterprise (Manufacturing environment - desirable). You must be a team player with a strong commitment to quality, safety and achieving high levels of productivity.

You should have the ability to learn and develop technical and product knowledge. Understanding of work processes and ability to read and follow procedures and work instructions is also essential.

Demonstrated safe use of electrical assembly hand and power tools is required. Demonstrated experience in delivering excellent customer service in a quality certified environment is also preferred.

Sound time management skills with a high attention to detail and focus, especially whilst undertaking repetitive tasks, is a must. Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels within an organization is also essential.

Ability to build and maintain internal working relationships which contribute to a harmonious, efficient, and productive working culture is also important.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred. Additionally, a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade is highly regarded.
