About the Role

Snowy Hydro is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to lead the commercial and contractual aspects of the Snowy 2.0 shallow works transmission project. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing contractual relationships, ensuring adherence to project agreements, and strategically handling contract claims, variations, and negotiations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Contract Management - Develop and implement strategies for effective management of the transmission project (shallow works).
  2. Documentation and Compliance - Ensure accurate and comprehensive records of all correspondence, notices, claims, and variations.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement and Negotiation - Serve as primary point of contact for negotiations with the contractor regarding claims and variations. Build and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, project teams, and external partners.
  4. Reporting and Analysis - Accurately monitor and report on the status of claims and variations, including impact on project scope, budget, and timeline.
  5. Compliance and Risk Management - Ensure all claims and variations comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  6. Process Improvement and Reporting - Continuously review and improve processes.
Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, or a related field. Proven experience in senior contracts administration or management, with a strong track record in managing claims and variations in large-scale construction or engineering projects. Solid commercial acumen, analytical capabilities, and expert knowledge of EPC contracts and legal compliance are essential. Effective stakeholder management and interpersonal skills are required for fostering strong relationships within and outside the organisation.
