Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
- Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize specialized CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Develop preliminary design sketches for conceptual analysis and evaluation.
- Create, review, and update design specifications, documentation, and material lists to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare comprehensive design and fabrication documentation packages for project engineers, fabricators, and installers.
- Verify that all drawings and assemblies meet customer specifications, codes, and relevant industry standards.
- Estimate material and production costs for proposed designs and provide cost-effective solutions.
- Research and evaluate new materials for design applications to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies.
- Organize and maintain engineering documentation and design archives in a secure and easily accessible manner.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of design deliverables.
- Construct prototypes and validate designs with the project team when required to ensure quality and reliability.
- Support project engineering activities including procurement, factory build supervision, engineering documentation, and tendering assistance.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar engineering or design role.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and external clients—both written and verbal.
