About the Role

Symbio is seeking a highly skilled Graduate Systems Engineer to join its Global Infrastructure team in Sydney. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting, managing, and enhancing the company's IT environment, working with both Windows and Linux operating systems.

You will collaborate closely with senior engineers to troubleshoot issues, maintain system stability, and drive improvements. The successful candidate will have access to experts in their field to help apply their university knowledge to real-world scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering and maintaining infrastructure for multiple Symbio business segments
  • Working across server infrastructure, assisting in the deployment and management of physical and virtual servers, and integrating with security and observability platforms
  • Collaborating with the Software and Network teams to deploy and support systems and services, ensuring engineering best practice
  • Managing and developing platforms and applications to ensure the company's future interests are secured
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues within designated business segments

Requirements

  • A recently completed university degree or qualification in IT, Computer Science, or Engineering related degrees, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Linux and Windows Server Systems, including installation, configuration, use, and troubleshooting
  • Some experience in a systems or software engineering role
  • Knowledge of Automation and DevOps (Ansible and CI/CD pipelines)
  • Knowledge of revision control systems (GitLab/GitHub)
  • Knowledge of virtualization (VMware and KVM)
  • Knowledge of IP Data Networking
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
