This is a role that goes beyond nursing, it's about being present for patients and their families in their most vulnerable moments.
About the RoleThe Specialist Palliative Care Service is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive palliative nursing care across acute, community, and residential aged care settings. This includes care for inpatients referred to the consultation service, clients at home or in residential aged care facilities (RACFs), and supporting intake and triage functions.
- Working hours will be primarily Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 17:00, with participation in a rotating after-hours on-call roster (17:00 to 20:30). Staff may also be rostered to cover a day shift on weekends approximately every 4–5 weeks, depending on leave and service needs. A 6 week orientation program will be provided.
- Dedication to team-based, trauma-informed, and culturally safe care is essential. Experience in (or a passion for) palliative care is preferred.
We are committed to delivering compassionate care that supports patients and their families through end-of-life care, including bereavement support and advanced care planning.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
