Australian Special Projects Manager

The Australian Government has established the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme to enable workers from Pacific Island Countries and Timor-Leste to work in priority sectors. This initiative provides opportunities for employment in Australia.
Key Responsibilities- This role involves managing rapid responses to ad-hoc requests related to policy, thematic, and cross-cutting issues within the PALM scheme. Tasks will include targeted research, monitoring, and reporting deliverables, as well as short-term coordination needs.
- Project management will be required from inception through to implementation, monitoring, and completion phases for special projects and ad-hoc requests.
- The successful candidate will produce high-quality data-driven briefing, research, monitoring, and reporting deliverables as part of special project delivery.
- Prominent contributions will be expected in the form of written policy feedback, ideas, and advice on emerging issues.
- Talking points will need to be developed for senior government officials on complex policy and process issues relating to the PALM scheme.
- Agreed internal and external sub-projects may be undertaken to improve PLMSP or PALM scheme performance.
- Specialist resources will need to be recruited and procured to deliver on tasking notes.
- Coordination and secretariat functions will be provided as part of special projects.
