Maintenance Fitter Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our team at Eficaz Consulting Pty Ltd. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in and undertake day-to-day activities of the maintenance department, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
  • Respond to breakdowns and emergencies, using your technical expertise to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Ensure production processes are conducted in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to statutory requirements and company policies.
  • Undertake regular and programmed maintenance of plant machinery, buildings, and services to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Meet all necessary quality assurance requirements, as requested, and directed.
  • Preventative maintenance and servicing of all production equipment, including fault finding and repair.
  • Responsible for all tools and ensure no tools are left in production areas, maintaining a high level of organization and tidiness.
  • Repair of production machinery parts, replacement of production machinery parts, and stock control of all relevant consumables.
  • General maintenance of unused machines, ensuring they are in good working order and ready for use when needed.
  • Constant review of production line to ensure optimal effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in an industrial / production / facility maintenance environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintenance issues.
  • Strong technical aptitude, with a solid understanding of mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Be physically fit and healthy for work, with the ability to lift and move heavy equipment as required.
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding and practice of food hygiene and food handling concepts, with a strong commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Good problem identification and solution skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
  • Sound understanding of plant and production hygiene requirements, with a strong commitment to maintaining a high level of quality and safety.
Preferred:
  • Experience in fabrication welding, with a strong understanding of metalworking and fabrication techniques.
  • Previous experience working on high-speed production and packaging equipment, boilers, and water treatment plant.
  • Currently hold a valid forklift truck operation license LF and / or electrical license.
