Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Middle School Volleyball Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching the fundamentals of volleyball and motivating students to reach their full potential.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Instruct players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
  • Organize and direct individual and group practice activities as directed by the head coach.
  • Assess player skills, monitor players during competition and practice, and inform the head coach of athletes' performance.
  • Supervise athletes during practices and competitions.
  • Follow established procedures in case of an athlete's injury.
  • Model sports-like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
  • Collect and store equipment and uniforms in an orderly fashion.
  • Distribute equipment, supplies, and uniforms to students.
  • Perform support tasks such as monitoring student eligibility and securing medical release forms.
  • Attend staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance.

Must have the ability to stand for extended periods; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone; see and read a computer screen as well as printed materials with or without vision aids; hear and understand speech at normal levels, outdoors and on the phone; speak in audible tones so others can understand clearly; physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height; and bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk, and reach overhead.

  • Instructing experience in volleyball.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Physical stamina to keep up with the demands of the position.
