In our pursuit of excellence, we require an experienced Manager - Human Resources & Training to join our team at the Dugald River Mine in Queensland, Australia.

This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a high-performing leadership team, driving strategic initiatives that support the site's operational goals and ensuring alignment with MMG's overall business objectives.

The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager and lead HR and training initiatives, collaborating with departmental leaders to establish stable and sustainable operational performance.

You will contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans, ensuring compliance with employment laws, enterprise agreements, and company policies. Your expertise in industrial relations and employee relations will be essential in resolving complex workplace issues.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing business cycle improvement plans to ensure quality and timeliness standards
  • Providing expert guidance on complex industrial and employee relations matters
  • Leading and managing the HR and Training team to provide exceptional support in general HR practices, talent acquisition, workforce planning, and professional development
  • Acting as a change agent, facilitating site-level change initiatives and culture shifts while ensuring effective communication and minimal operational disruption

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in a relevant site operational leadership role, including human resources, organisation development, or business partnership functions in complex industrial environments
  • Strong experience managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with diverse senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrated expertise in industrial relations and employee relations, including negotiating enterprise agreements and resolving complex workplace issues
  • University qualifications in a commercially applicable discipline, such as business, human resources, industrial relations, or organisational psychology, with preferred postgraduate qualifications

The remuneration package for this role includes a competitive salary, annual bonus, and generous local allowances for employees living in the Cloncurry and Mt Isa areas.

On-site accommodation is provided, featuring communal media facilities, 4G coverage, an onsite Medical Centre, sporting facilities, swimming pool, and gym facilities.

MMG also offers relocation assistance, retention payment for long-term residents, and incentives for employees who reside in or relocate to Cloncurry township.
