Job Summary - Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Followmont Transport Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to join our team in Brisbane. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of our fleet of heavy commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance checks and servicing to ensure fleet compliance with industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues with engines, transmissions, and other vehicle systems.
  • Repairs: Perform repairs on mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, and suspension systems, to ensure vehicles are safe and operational.
  • Safety Inspections: Conduct thorough safety inspections to ensure all systems and components meet safety standards and regulations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Operational Interaction: Communicate effectively with operational leaders and drivers to ensure work is completed within timelines.
  • Compliance: Ensure all repairs and maintenance work comply with industry standards, manufacturer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Teamwork: Provide training and support to apprentices and contribute to a collaborative workshop environment.

Requirements:

  • Valid qualification for the repair and maintenance of heavy commercial vehicles (Certificate III in HV Mechanical Technology).
