About the Role

This role is an incredible opportunity to work on a project that focuses on improving the health outcomes for Aboriginal women and their families. As a Senior Research Consultant, you will be responsible for using your knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and society to inform the design and implementation of this project.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with the ORCHID Study team and participating communities to develop effective strategies for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of simplified screening approaches for high blood glucose levels in pregnancy.

Key Responsibilities

  • To use your knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and society to inform the design and implementation of this project
  • To work closely with the ORCHID Study team and participating communities to develop effective strategies for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of simplified screening approaches for high blood glucose levels in pregnancy
  • To assist in the analysis and interpretation of data collected from the project
  • To contribute to the development of reports and other materials related to the project

Requirements

  • Knowledge and deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and society, and health and wellbeing and commitment to Aboriginal community consultation and control
  • Highly developed interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative and work productively as part of a team
  • Prior experience and skills in research including community research design, analysis and reporting

Salary: $85,000 - $115,000 per annum (depending on experience)
