In this 12-month max term contract role, you will support the Marketing & Growth department in delivering greater retirement outcomes by fostering a risk-aware culture through embedded first-line risk management.

You will partner closely with the M&G Leadership Team and other departments to enable strong risk management and seize strategic opportunities. As a Risk Manager, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to strengthen controls and adopt new business processes through risk management oversight, controls assurance, testing, and reporting as UniSuper's governance model matures.

You will drive Risk Management capability amongst our team, building awareness of process improvement, risks, and controls management.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring, oversight, and challenge across department, risk projects, incident, compliant management, remediation, and data quality of UniSuper's risk management system.
  • Supporting monthly operational Marketing & Growth risk reporting.
  • Conducting control assurance and testing, monitoring and reporting on risk activities such as incidents (breaches) and compliance obligations, and preparing written reports for relevant committees.
  • Supporting Internal Audit and assurance testing activities in accordance with UniSuper's Assurance Map.
  • Understanding how change will be delivered into the business and ensuring risks arising are assessed and effectively managed.
  • Working closely across Marketing & Growth teams (Product, Business Development & Employer Partnerships, Marketing, Digital...) to support achieving business unit objectives.

For this exciting new role, we are looking for someone with extensive Risk Management experience, comfortable working in a fast-moving transformation environment with a degree of ambiguity.

We expect you to have a strong understanding of risk management frameworks and experience adapting them to specific organizational needs. You should also possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in banking/financial services/other relevant experience coupled with a strong operational risk management background across Line 1 environments.
  • Extensive experience in controls and process management paired with managing audit and assurance activities across either Line 1 or risk environments.
  • Influencing and consulting skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels; ability to think critically and analytically and use data-driven insights to achieve risk / assurance outcomes.
  • Experience delivering reports and associated insights to all levels of management (operational and strategic).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working within Line 1 or 2 Risk.

This Melbourne-based role offers an estimated salary of AU$100,000 - AU$120,000 per annum, depending on your experience and qualifications.
