Job Opportunity

The Culturally Nourishing Schooling (CNS) project is a practice and research informed program that aims to better engage and support the education of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. This collaborative project between several Australian universities, local communities, and schools works to establish a culturally focused and strengths-based program that supports whole-of-school change and fosters long-term relationships between schools and their local communities.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to this groundbreaking project as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow. As part of the CNS team, you will be responsible for managing projects, collaborating with educators, and contributing to the development of culturally responsive teaching practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects related to the CNS program, including planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks
  • Collaborate with educators, researchers, and community members to develop culturally responsive teaching practices
  • Contribute to the development of educational programs and materials that promote Indigenous knowledge and perspectives

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander values, perspectives, connections, and knowledges
  • Experience in project management, including ability to plan, organize, set priorities, and meet deadlines
  • An emerging research track record with evidence of recent high-quality scholarly publications
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team
