Area Manager Job Description

This is an exceptional opportunity for a dedicated and experienced educator to join our organization as an Area Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of educators in providing high-quality early childhood education and care to children aged 0-5 years.

Job Overview:

The Area Manager will play a vital role in shaping the educational outcomes of our children. As a leader, you will be accountable for ensuring that our programs are delivered with excellence and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of educators to provide high-quality early childhood education and care to children aged 0-5 years.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve program quality and outcomes.
  • Manage staff performance, providing coaching and mentoring to support their growth and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve organizational goals and objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of Diploma level Early Childhood qualification.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Current National Police Clearance Certificate.
  • Current Medical Clearance.
  • Current approved First Aid Certificate / Asthma and Anaphylaxis training.
  • At least 2 years' experience as a qualified educator in an early childhood setting.
  • Sound understanding of the developmental needs of children aged 0-5 years.
  • Strong Knowledge & experience of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), National Quality Framework (NQF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).
  • Effective communication skills - with families, staff and children.
  • Effective management skills - staff (operational and developmental).
  • Effective leadership skills.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

While not essential, it would be beneficial if you had:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or related field.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Experience working collaboratively with early childhood professionals from other disciplines, eg, health and welfare.

As part of your role, you will be working with young children and those who are vulnerable. It is your obligation to always ensure their safety and report any concerns that you have, in line with our duty of care obligations.

You will be required to regularly provide the necessary clearances and references as outlined in the job description.
