About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Transport & Logistics Operations Assistant/Yard Supervisor to join our team at GKR Transport. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating yard activities, leading a team of forklift drivers and strappers, and ensuring freight is loaded, unloaded, and delivered safely and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the Forklift driving team, providing clear leadership and guidance.
  • Operate forklifts and manage truck movements around the depot.
  • Assist with linehaul coordination and oversee freight receipt and dispatch.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, implementing initiatives to promote a safe work environment.
  • Optimise depot layout and storage to maximise space utilisation.
  • Manage driver paperwork, manifest trailers, and enter customer data for daily collections.
  • Collaborate with the State and Operations Manager and other internal departments to meet operational objectives.

About You:

  • 2-3 years of experience in transport delivery and forklift operations.
  • Current Forklift License, MC Licence highly desirable.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and effectively communicate with your team.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in scheduling, rostering, and driving operational process improvements.
