Civil Engineering Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to lead our team in delivering exceptional civil engineering projects.
As a key member of our team, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for civil aspects of projects. Your technical expertise will ensure the unique and complex requirements of civil/structural aspects are met.
- Plans and conducts independent Civil work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of Civil engineering techniques, procedures and criteria on a medium size project or assignment in support of a global business unit for civil works on green field and brown field projects.
- Leads the design, development, modification, and evaluation of Civil components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs).
You will have advanced knowledge of civil engineering in the areas of hydrology, hydraulics, road design and pavement design, geotechnical and earthworks. You will be responsible for determining the appropriate use of various civil elements such as earthworks, pavement, rock, concrete, etc. to ensure appropriate material is used based on project requirements.
In this role, you will also:
- Originates and checks complex Civil engineering deliverables, such as calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.
- Coordinates and interfaces as directed with the day-to-day technical work of personnel.
- Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to upper management.
- Mentors Civil engineering personnel by providing on-the-job training for their professional development.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 15+ years of relevant experience
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ)
- Recently supervised team during study and detail design phase of project(s)
