Job Description

Amicus Legal Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Lawyer to join their Commercial Litigation team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing and advising on various facets of general commercial litigation, including shareholder disputes, Australian Consumer Law breaches, lease disputes, professional negligence matters, insurance litigation, and complex property, partnership, contract, and insolvency disputes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and advise on various facets of general commercial litigation, including:
    • Shareholder disputes
    • Australian Consumer Law breaches
    • Lease disputes
    • Professional negligence matters
    • Insurance litigation
    • Complex property, partnership, contract, and insolvency disputes
  • Collaborate with partners who also practice in employment law, potentially involving you in employment-related matters
  • Provide strategic legal advice and representation to clients
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, affidavits, and submissions
  • Appear in court and instruct counsel in litigation proceedings
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years post-admission experience (PAE) in litigation, including experience with insolvency matters
  • Strong understanding of general commercial litigation
  • Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong client relationship management skills
  • Admitted to practice in Victoria
