We are seeking graduates with a passion for public service and a desire to make a difference in the lives of all Australians. As a member of our graduate program, you will be exposed to various facets of our portfolio and have the opportunity to build your capability during the program.
Our graduate program offers a holistic view of working in a government agency through two allocated work placements, a formal learning and development program (including a Graduate Certificate in Public Administration), on-the-job experience, and the opportunity to work with and learn from subject matter experts.
As a DEWR officer, you will have the chance to develop your skills and knowledge as an APS officer and contribute to the department's purpose of enabling access to quality skills, training, and employment to support Australians find secure work in fair, productive, and safe workplaces.
The program starts in February each year and is open to Australian citizens who have completed their university degree within the last five years or are in their final year of study.
To be eligible to apply, applicants must also be prepared to obtain and maintain baseline security clearance and be willing to undergo a National Police Check and health checks as required.
Job Description- Preparing detailed budgets and costings for projects, initiatives, and departments.
- Interpreting accounting standards and providing financial analysis and reporting.
- Writing briefs, including senate estimates and updates to internal policies and guidelines.
- Detailed account reconciliations and reporting.
- Assisting in procurement activities, including interpretation of procurement guidelines.
- Problem-solving, conducting process mapping, and suggesting improvements.
You will be part of a supportive, inclusive, and flexible working environment and have various opportunities to be involved in a wide range of networks and social events.
