Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating mechanical engineering design documents, collaborating with other engineers and designers, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

The Role

This position involves:

  • Creating mechanical engineering design documents from concept to construction phase, ensuring compliance with technical, commercial, regulatory, and safety standards.
  • Collaborating with other design teams and engineering disciplines to ensure coordination and resolution of overall project design solutions.
  • Delivering project-related tasks to meet deadline, quality, and financial targets.
  • Interacting with relevant authorities and stakeholders.
  • Participating in site inspections and working with trade contractors to ensure designs are implemented according to briefed requirements.
  • Leading small to medium-sized projects.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the development of technical mechanical discipline.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Building Services Engineering).
  • Extensive experience in an Australian building services consulting engineering practice.
  • Familiarity with various building sectors, such as commercial, health, laboratory, pharmaceutical, education, aviation, transport, or defence.
  • Experience with mechanical building services engineering design and various types of mechanical services systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant Australia Standards and Building Code of Australia.
  • Excellent time management, written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with mechanical design packages such as CAMEL.
  • Registered Building Practitioner/Professional Engineer qualifications and/or Engineers Australia chartership would be advantageous.
  • Understanding and modeling capability using Revit MEP, NavisWorks, and BIM would be highly advantageous.
  • Engineering project leading/management skills would be highly advantageous.
