About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to lead our architecture and delivery teams in the development of cutting-edge software solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing technical solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architecture Development: Design and develop technical architectures for software solutions, ensuring they meet the requirements of our clients and are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead a team of software engineers in the development of software solutions, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Cloud and Agile Expertise: Develop and implement cloud-based solutions using contemporary cloud platform approaches, and lead the adoption of Agile development methodologies.
  • Technical Requirements Elaboration: Elaborate technical requirements for software solutions, including creating development-ready backlogs of user stories and testable acceptance criteria.
  • Development and Testing: Develop automated unit and integration tests, and lead the development of software solutions using a range of technologies and frameworks.
  • Documentation and Communication: Prepare technical documentation, including requirements backlogs, user interface prototypes, software specifications, and contribute to the development of solution architecture documents.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients and stakeholders to confirm detailed requirements, demonstrate work in progress, and receive feedback.
  • Pre-Sales Support: Provide technical pre-sales support, estimation of services work, and technical input into business development and bid activities.
  • Knowledge Sharing and Mentoring: Share knowledge and mentor staff to develop and improve the Nova Systems software development capability.
Requirements
  • Australian Citizenship: Must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer leading multiple developers.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced full-stack software development and coding skills using modern languages, frameworks, and database technologies.
  • Cloud and Agile Expertise: Demonstrated experience implementing cloud-first solutions leveraging contemporary cloud platform approaches.
  • Agile Development: Experience with the Agile development methodology through requirements analysis, backlog management, sprint planning, testing, and release.
  • Scripting Languages: Proven ability to work with scripting languages to customize applications and automate processes.
