Heavy Lift Operations Coordinator

We are seeking an experienced coordinator to plan, coordinate and ensure our Heavy Lift operations run smoothly, safely and correctly across the project. The role will involve working closely with the Superintendent - Crane & Rigging, as well as multiple Package Manager's to ensure we are able to lift some of the world's largest equipment for a State of the Art and brand new Gold Processing Plant.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in multi-discipline, mining project delivery, and be able to read and interpret design drawings, schematics and other engineering drawings. They will also have proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage performance effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with procurement personnel for all necessary material and consumable requirements.
  • Read and interpret specifications, technical drawings, schematics, and any other engineering documentation and/or reports.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, and/or coordinate detailed phases of assigned project work.
  • Supervise and coordinate structural, mechanical, and piping installation activities to meet project targets.
  • Ensure that safety, quality, and environmental standards are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Lead daily pre-start meetings and toolbox talks to maintain team engagement and safety focus.
  • Monitor workforce performance and provide coaching and support to ensure productivity and quality outcomes.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to resolve construction challenges and maintain project momentum.
  • Conduct inspections to verify that works are completed to design and specification before handover.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Significant experience as a Structural or Rigging Supervisor on Major Projects.
  • Experience with managing blue collar crew and subcontractors.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage performance effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings, schematics and other engineering drawings.
  • Strong understanding of SMP construction methodologies and industry best practices.
  • Solid knowledge of safety systems, permit to work processes, and risk assessments on large projects.
  • Competency in using construction management software and Microsoft Office suite.
