Production Manager Job

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our skilled tradespeople team. This role requires at least 15 years of hands-on experience in exhibition stand construction, set building, or custom fabrication.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring workshop operations run efficiently, projects are delivered on time and with high quality, and the team meets the highest safety and productivity standards.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of cabinet makers, carpenters, welders, painters, and machinists.
  • Foster a strong workshop culture with a focus on quality, safety, and accountability.
  • Develop training programs and succession planning within the production team.
  • Manage fabrication projects from concept through to on-site delivery.
  • Evaluate workflow efficiency and resource allocation across trades and machinery.
  • Maintain state-of-the-art automated machinery (e.g., CNC routers, laser cutters, automated saws).
  • Provide technical support when issues arise on the floor or onsite.
  • Prepare project budgets, monitor costs, and deliver projects profitably.
  • Oversee procurement of materials and supplier negotiations.
  • Optimise labour and machine time scheduling to maximise output.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and account managers to ensure production aligns with client expectations.
