Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Unaccredited Trainee in General Medicine. The successful candidate will provide expert medical care to inpatients and outpatients of the General Medicine departments, working under the supervision and direction of Specialist Medical Practitioners.

The trainee will participate in outpatient services in a variety of ambulatory care settings, including hospital facilities and private consulting rooms. They will be responsible for patient assessment, making treatment decisions, performing procedures and maintaining adequate medical records; and developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment.



Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Ability to exercise discretion, sensitivity and maintain confidentiality.
  • Capacity to work co-operatively as a member and contributor in a complex multi-disciplinary team, including pro-active participation in team meetings and decision-making processes.
  • Ability to provide and participate in performance monitoring.
  • Willingness to participate in departmental after-hours rosters throughout the year, including evening, night and weekend shifts.
  • Current registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
  • Sufficient clinical experience to undertake clinical duties for clinical rotations, and proficiency in basic and advanced life support.
