About Hassett and the Role

Hassett is a leading business in the NFP sector, seeking a skilled Financial Business Partner for a 3-month contract to provide crucial financial insights and support decision-making across the organization. In this role, you will work closely with senior management, delivering strategic financial analysis and reporting that supports the organization's goals and mission.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in financial management, business partnering, and a demonstrated ability to work with Power BI or other business intelligence solutions to provide data-driven insights. Also, experience in grant tracking and management will be highly coveted, ensuring compliance with government requirements and accurate reporting of funding.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with various departments to develop and manage budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Utilize Power BI or other business intelligence tools to create and maintain interactive dashboards and financial models.
  • Track grants and funding: monitor revenue received, ensure spending aligns with grant requirements, and manage acquittals to demonstrate proper use of funds to the government and other funding bodies.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements to optimize financial performance.
  • Present financial insights to senior leadership, translating data into actionable recommendations.
  • Assist with month-end processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Support grant reporting and compliance with funding requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to provide financial guidance and support strategic initiatives.

Skills and Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA/CA qualification (or working towards) preferred.
  • Experience as a Finance Business Partner or similar role, ideally within the not-for-profit sector.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI or other business intelligence solutions for financial reporting and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in grant tracking, management, and acquittals, ensuring compliance with government requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • A passion for working in the not-for-profit sector and making a positive impact.
