Talent International is currently seeking an experienced Senior Cost Modelling Specialist for a 12-month contract with the potential for extension, working with one of our Federal Government clients based in Sydney.

About the Role:

The role is situated within the Office of the CIO (OCIO), part of the Scheme Digital Platforms (SDP) program, which drives innovation in ICT solutions to support the National Disability Insurance Scheme. The Corporate Systems Directorate focuses on vendor management, budget control, and providing strategic investment advice to drive digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage project cost plans, forecasts, and budget estimates for business cases, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Monitor expenditures, manage financial controls, and advise on budget allocation to optimize resource utilization and minimize costs.
  • Generate expenditure reports, analyze variances, and provide insights for OCIO leadership to inform decision-making.
  • Support procurement by developing tender documents and analyzing vendor budget requirements to ensure fair and transparent processes.
  • Organize and facilitate project meetings and workshops with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and communication.

Essential Criteria:

  • 3-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within federal government procurement, with a strong understanding of budget management and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with hands-on experience in procurement and knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPR) and PGPA Act.

Role Expectations:

  • A hybrid work arrangement with two days in-office, including one mandatory Directorate day and one flexible day.
  • Australian Citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance, and entry-level checks will be conducted for successful candidates.
